Tiffany Masson, Psy.D.


Dr. Tiffany Masson obtained her Doctorate of Clinical Psychology at the California School of Professional Psychology, accredited by the American Psychological Association. She completed her internship and post-doctoral fellowship at the University of California Davis Children’s Hospital, where she conducted court-ordered parenting capacity evaluations and provided empirically-based treatment to children and families involved with the Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS). After the completion of her training, Dr. Masson was employed by Cook County Juvenile Court and Northwestern School of Law as a staff psychologist in which she conducted various forensic assessments and provided expert testimony related to child protection and juvenile justice matters. Dr. Masson has trained extensively in the area of forensic psychology and has developed expertise in the following areas: forensic assessments (e.g., juvenile, criminal, child protection and civil matters), complex trauma, and evidenced-based treatment.

Dr. Masson, as a program faculty at the Chicago School of Professional Psychology, teaches graduate forensic psychology courses and is the Director of The Chicago School Forensic Center. The Center provides high-quality forensic psychology services and trains students to become competent mental health practitioners. She has led research related to trauma and group efficacy of the TARGET Model with female probationers. As such, she has participated in the National Child Traumatic Stress Network Learning Collaborative to promote best practices for trauma and psychosocial assessment, treatment, and services for youth who have experienced complex trauma. She has authored numerous state and national presentations with regard to mental health, trauma and delinquency, and child welfare matters. Additionally, as a co-author, she has written articles for legal personnel about obtaining and utilizing comprehensive forensic evaluations (see full article in Nevada Law Journal, 2006) and conducting competent Termination of Parental Rights Evaluations (Psychiatry and Law in process).
